 UNIT 11: AT THE BUS STOP
 Lesson 3
I. OBJECTIVES:
 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 -Use “He’s running.”, ”She’s running.” are used to express the action that is 
 going on/happening at the moment of speaking.
 - Sing a song with the structures : “He’s running.”, ”She’s running.” 
1. Knowledge/ Language focus:
- Vocabulary: sun, truck, bus, running.
- Sound: /u/
-Sentence pattern: “He’s running.”, ”She’s running.”
2. Skills:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Quality /Attitude: 
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. 
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something at the bus 
stop.
4. Competences: 
SS can develop some competences:
-Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: 
work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play
-Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information
-Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing 
words/phrases
-Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, 
giving comments, critical thinking. 
II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS:
- Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording 
III. METHODS: 
- Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total 
physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching 
methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method.
IV. PROCEDURE:
 Teacher’s activities Students’ activities
 Activity 1:Warm up:5’
 *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to 
 begin the new lesson.
 *Procedure:
 - Have a group of Ss to sing the chant on - SS chant. page 15 in front of the class. The class claps 
hands.
Activity 2. Listen and repeat:10’
*Aim: help Ss to practise sentence pattern: 
“He’s running.”, ”She’s running.”
*Procedure:
- Have Ss look at the picture, saying Who -SS look and listen.
are they? They are Ss. Can you see a boy? 
Yes, he’s running. Then let them point to the 
first sentence, listen and repeat, saying 
Listen to the recording and repeat, please! 
“He’s running”.
- Explain the meaning of the sentence and -Listen and repeat.

repeat. Give more support to those Ss who 
find it difficult to do the task.

Activity 3. Let’s talk :7’
*Aim: help Ss to improve speaking skill with 
sentence pattern: “He’s running.”, ”She’s 
running.”.
- Show a real bag (or a flashcard of a bag) -SS listen.
and ask Ss to look at it, and say (“He’s 
running.”, ”She’s running.”). Let them 
listen and repeat the sentence several times 
until they feel confident.
-Have Ss look at the bubble (“He’s 
running.”, ”She’s running.”.) to understand 
how the language is used. Explain the 
meaning of the sentence, if necessary.
-Ask them to look at the pictures to identify -SS look and identify. 
the things they may possess. Then let them 
point to the pictures and say the words, 
Check comprehension.
 -SS point and say.
-Point to Picture a and model the task, using 
the expression in the bubble and the word in the picture. E.g. (“He’s running.”, ”She’s

c, d by getting Ss to point to the pictures and 
say what they have. Give further support to 
those Ss who find it difficult to do the task.
-Have Ss point to the pictures and say the -SS work in pairs or in groups

- Play the recording several times for Ss to 
repeat the verse, line after line, to make sure 
that they can sing the verse correctly.
 -SS sing the song.
-Have Ss listen to and sing the whole song.
 -SS practise singing the song in 
-Let Ss practise singing the song in pairs of pairs of groups .

necessary. -SS sing and clap.
-Have a few groups sing the whole song and 
clap their hands to reinforce the tune, the 
rhythm and the melody in front of the lass. 
*Outcome: sing the song.
Activity 5. Consolidation(2’) -SS listen.
- Asking Ps to focus on sounds and 
vocabulary again.
Activity 6. Homelink (1’) -SS listen and take note.
 Practice more at home. 
- Prepare new lesson.
