Period: 07 Class: 1A, 1B WEEK 7 Monday, October 21st 2024 UNIT 4: IN THE BEDROOM Lesson 1.2 I. OBJECTIVES: - Pronounce the sound of the letter D/d. - Say the words duck, door, dog, desk. - Say the letter D/d and the words duck, dog, door, desk and the phrases a duck and a dog and a door and a desk in a chant. - Listen and identify the phrases A duck and a dog; A door and a desk. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: duck, door, dog, desk - Sound: /d/ 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something in the bedroom. 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities * Warm up. T asks some Ss to show and introduce things they have in the classroom. - SS answer. e.g. This is my bag. This is my book. Activity 1. Listen and repeat. - Have Ss look at the picture and answer -Look at the picture and listen. some questions such as What can you see? Can you see a dog? Yes, this is a dog. -Ask Ss to point to the letter D/d, saying -Point, listen and repeat. Look at letter D/d. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter D/d. - Tell Ss to point to the door and the word -Ss repeat. door. Ask them to listen and repeat the word.Then play the recording again. - Repeat the same procedure with the words desk, dog and duck. Correct pronunciation, -Ss listen and repeat. if necessary. - In pairs or groups, play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck and -SS listen, point and repeat. repeat until they feel confident. - Play the recording again and call a few Ss to say the sound of the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck in front of the -SS say in front of the class. class. Activity 2. Point and say. - Have Ss look at the picture/poster . Ask - Look at the picture and them to describe the picture. Draw Ss’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. -Invite some Ss to point to the pictures and -SS point and say. say the words in front of the class. E.g. 1a: a dog, 1b: a duck. - Play the recording for Ss to listen and tick - Ss listen and tick. the box. - Let ss to listen again and check . - Ss listen and check. Activity 5. Look and trace. *Key: 1.a 2. b. - Have Ss look at the letter D (upper case) and d (lower case). Ask Ss to make sure if -SS look and listen. they recognize the two forms of the letter. - Tell Ss to trace the letter D/d. T can demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the broken lines of the letter D/d on the board. -SS trace. -Then let Ss do the tracing. - Check the results of Ss’ tracing and give -SS check. feedback. - Ask some Ss to show what they have -SS show. done. - With a better class, write the letter D/d in broken lines on the board and invite some Ss to trace them. Activity 6. Homelink . Practice more at home. - SS listen. - Prepare new lesson. - SS listen and take note.
